gundogs and lurchers

the training thread was going off topic lads so thought id start this one off :thumbs: this is the pack i was working in 2003 season before the ban came in and they made a good team the terrier and spaniel working the cover and the two lurchers catching whatever they flushed :thumbs:

the spaniel was a brilliant bitch id love to have another like her brilliant nose and as clever as they come!! she was also rock steady nothing like them hyper spaniels that look like somethings been put in there breakfast :laugh: :laugh:

 

this was her sire and dam owned by the keeper in the picture i cant remember there lines but ill find out for you both :thumbs:

thats me on the trailer counting the birds in this old liverpool shirt when i was about 11 i never used to take it off :laugh: countrymans weekly added to gage size :thumbs:

and this from a day out rough shooting with a keeper friend in shropshire with 3 springers, my bedo cross and his bull cross :thumbs:

that was a brilliant day out, just walking the woods,hedgerows, game crops and fields right at the end of the season and shooting or coursing anything that got up!!! we didnt shoot or catch much but it was one of the best days out ive ever had and if we can sort something out the same in january im sure we would have just as good a day :victory:

 

ps sorry pics aint the best this was long before digital cameras made it easy for me :laugh::thumbs:

the present day charges!!!

definitely work out a day looking at my shoot days I have a gap over Christmas and a couple of days at the end of the season we could fit it in, bit of a trek for lab but I promised him I would show him how a proper shoot works so be nice to see him :thumbs:

Cracking pics Lurcher1.......not one for taking photos of shoot days, i should really its nice to look back on days you've enjoyed out working the dogs and having the crack.

I'm going to try and hunt out some old ones for you lot, might be a struggle as we lost a few in a fire up here a while back.....sure there will be some hunting/shooting releated pics somewhere..... :thumbs:

Like the rough coated one L1...reminds me of my mate Tramp1 of here old dog...........he liked foxes that 1..... :yes:
