romany52 313
Is she not used to your bare arms ? I've had ferrets soft as you like but they will still bite any part of the body they are not used to, especially keen on bare feet ! Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
Is she not used to your bare arms ? I've had ferrets soft as you like but they will still bite any part of the body they are not used to, especially keen on bare feet ! THats whats puzzling mate...99% of the time I'm in with a Tshirt, I normally handle them and cradle them in the clasp of my arms where they both have "a bit lick" and a run up n down the arms/shoulders but it was just the way she shot up my arm and latched straight on without so much as a lick, sniff or anything... been back in a few times and she seems to have settled a bit but it still seems as though she's still looking for a way round to latch on again Darryl Quote Link to post

Quickest way to get a ferret off is to put your hand around it's neck, lift your thumb over the back of it's head and on to it's forehead with the tip of your thumb level with it's eyes. Grasp and pull back with your thumb. This puts pressure on the mandibular nerve system, which leaves the ferret with no option but to open it's mouth. The ferret suffers no stress and no damage. Once you have worked out how to do this, it's fast, easy and 100% effective. Marksman 934
not so much when being picked up, she's fine, I can handle her, its the fact she's always looking for somewhere to have a go..... if I was hurting her surely she'd try and bite my fingers first or have a go before I try and handle her. I've just been in and give them a full rabbit to share and I had meat/blood on my hands and she wasnt interested, she did however try and latch on under my jumper sleeve.... It's definately a weird one! If she's still the same I'll try and video it tomorrow as I'm getting ready to go for a meal soon Darryl Quote Link to post

Blue one 89
In my experience and rarely, some ferrets just turn strange and do, start to bite! Even after a few years of having them, no explanation what so ever. Quote Link to post
Marksman 934
small video.... as you can see she has a small playful nip when I put my hand in but she's always been like that.... then she licks the hand on handling....which again is "normal" buy watch when I lift my sleeve slightly... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFX7p7EMeU4 Darryl Quote Link to post
