Gaz_1989 9,539
Are there many first cross beddy greys about or line bred half crosses for that matter? Don't see as many about as beddy whippets and I've done a search but can't find alot on them. What sort of height would a first cross bitch be likely to make? Are they biddable and easily trained? Did people prefer half or quarter beddy for rabbits and bigger stuff pre ban? Gaz Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
Thanks for reply. I've heard the beddy/grey compared to being a smaller deer/grey? Is this true? And how do they compare? Which would make a more versatile dog and all rounder? Gaz Quote Link to post
HAMMERDAN 25
I have a SalukiGrey/BeddyWhippet x BeddyGrey, and he's a pleasure, proud to call him mine.. Game as toast, but as said above sometimes to game, mine would literally kill himself for a bunny, but none the less a great companion, You after one mate? Here's a couple of pics mate, ATB Dan. nighteyes 275
imo a 1/4 beddy/3/4 grey would be a better choice i think a first x CAN lack that top gear ,but a bitch half x between 22 24 tts Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Thanks for replies. Hammerdan - he is a cracking looking dog. How tall is he? I can't decide what to do, my pup is sal/whip/grey 24" tts so I think I want to get a bitch pup after he has had his first season (this season coming). I'm sure he will be a demon on rabbits and faster rabbits. I want something a bit bigger, maybe 26" and a little thicker set that would retrieve shot reds easier than a smaller dog. I've considered bull cross, collie cross, and now looking at beddy or deer cross. Just trying to broaden my knowledge on the way but beddy/grey is looking like a strong contender. How tall would a bitch likely make? Gaz Quote Link to post
dave goodall 10
go with first cross mate dont go for bed x grey to bed x grey there plauged with copper toxosis think its called theres some really nice examples up here but rarly see them for sale and when bred usally the pups are already spoken for take a bit of training but one trained in my opinon the best lurcher around not the fastest but its brains and balls compensates for that Quote Link to post
