Sports Massage For Horses

hiya just out of interest does anyone have or ever used Sports massage treatment on their horses?

I do the massages myself on my horses as a daily routine. Along with 'strapping' and stretches. But I see no harm in having someone do it for you if your horse requires it.

I do my own massage on my horses. It is illegal to have someone else massage your horse without a veterinary consent. It appears its part of the health and safety even if its a friend. Worlds gone mad again.

I also massage the dogs who enjoy it even more than the horses

Yeah its just i have seen a few things about sports massage for horses i wanted to know if it was quite popular amongst horse owners to have the treatment for their horses. Do you find it benefits them in any way.

i do the strapping and carrot stretches myself. it really frees them up especially after a hards hunting. i did have a lady come out to do some kind of touch therapy to my daughters show pony who is very nervy. tbh i wasnt convinced but whatever she did transformed the pony. the pony went on to win bsps mini show pony champion the next week!!

We have an equine massage course running on our yard this weekend. Cannot believe that you have to have a vets consent! especially as you dont need a Dr's consent for a human massage.
