pattstaff 157
I'd rather run on and cull at least you know where they are Theres no single set of rules to pups that is going to sit comfortably with everyone, again even to people who arent money driven and have the right attitude. On culling,if I needed a pup out of my own dogs and my mates didnt need any I wouldnt put down 3-4 good quality pups, sick/deformed no bother,fiesty/healthy pups no,but thats just me.Id rather gift all day long to people I know and watch the pups come on and have the bloodline nearby in case the never never happens but it just doesnt always go the way you want it.In a perfect dog world we'd all give eachother free services and free pups and the lend of bitches to take litters off but like I said it dont always go that way. hunt 30
Trust is a big factor in the dog game you'll trust lads and they'll trust you I like most have been stiffed by the odd so called terrierman that is all over you like a rash then no where to be seen when push comes to shove I dig permanently with one lad we have two sets of kennels full of the same gear there us a couple more lads among us that have the same gear and I've a handful of good friends in ireland that we visit every year who we trade pups with this to us us enough these days I did take a young kid along once but he let us down shame really but that's life when I was a kid I was as Kean as mustard and would given the chance never let anyone down regarding terriers buy maybe that's a sign of he times and these days you can Never trust anyone I'm glad I've two kids to fetch on and show the ropes and my mate a two young lads one who is seventeen and one eight bad mean as mustard mind you the older one has got a sniff of pussy so the dogs have take a back seat at the moment Quote Link to post

doctor dolittle 1
JUST READING ABOUT A CERTAIN TOPIC REGARDING BAYING DOGS AND THE HARDER TYPE TERRIER.I READ MANY OPINIONS AND POSTS BY MANY TERRIERMEN AND THEIR VIEWS ON BAYING DOGS AND HARDER TERRIERS.EVERY GOOD TERRIERMAN KNOWS THAT SOMETIMES AN HARD TYPE TERRIER CERTAINLY IS NEEDED ON CERTAIN OCCASIONS E.G. ESPECIALLY WHEN ONE'S QUARRY CAN BE SITUATED IN A INACCESSIBLE, SOMEWHAT VANTAGE POINT.HOWEVER FOR CONSISTENT WORK A GOOD BAYING DOG CANNOT BE TOUCHED. A REALLY HARD DOG IS AT MOST TIMES OUT OF ACTION FROM HIS WOUNDS AND DAMAGE INFLICTED OR A REALLY HARD DOG CAN BE A DEAD DOG.YEARS AGO I HAVE EXPERIENCED REALLY HARD TERRIERS, MAINLY COLOURED DOGS BUT SOME RUSSELLS ALSO.PLUS MY BROTHER PUT A VERY GOOD SMALL RUSSELL OF HIS TO GROUND AFTER HOUNDS HAD MARKED TO GROUND AND AFTER A VERY SHORT WHILE OF DIGGING THE BITCH HAD KILLED A FOX, BUT VERY UNFORTUNATELY DIED IN THE PROCESS, PERHAPS DUE TO HEART FAILURE! I HAVE SEEN MANY, SO MANY SO-CALLED TERRIERMEN PARADING THEIR DOGS ON LEADS AT THE SHOWS SHOWING OFF THEIR SCARS AND RECENT BATTLE WOUNDS.'IT ONLY GIVES THE ANTIS MORE AMMUNITION FOR THE SO-CALLED CAUSE.... KNOW MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS AN HARD DOG DOES NOT SEE THE WORK A BAYER DOES; AND ALOT OF HOLES DO NOT NEED SINKING IN ORDER TO CATCH ONE'S QUARRY. PLENTY OF BRAIN ON THE TERRIER'S PART AND PUTTING EVERYTHING INTO YOUR DOGS WILL IN THE END CONCLUSION GET RESULTS. OF COURSE SOME DOGS ARE BETTER AT WORKING THAN OTHERS, BUT YOU ONLY GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN. I THINK TO SEE A GOOD BAYING DOG WHICH IS USUALLY ALSO A GOOD FINDER IS THE WAY TERRIER WORK SHOULD BE CONDUCTED. NOT FOR ONE MOMENT WOULD I PULL DOWN THE HARD DOGS, BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW THEY HAVE THEIR USES. HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WITNESSED A REALLY GOOD CONSISTENT YAPPY TERRIER UP TO THEIR QUARRY. TO STUDY A FOX OR BADGER, WHEN THEY COULD BE HUNTED LEGALLY ONE ONLY HAS TO LOOK AT THE WAY THE TERRIERS QUARRY BEHAVES. IF AN HARD DOG WANTS TO MIX THINGS, 'WELL 9 TIMES OUT OF 10 THE QUARRY IS WAITING; BUT WATCH A REALLY GOOD BAYING, YAPPY TERRIER DO IT'S JOB AND ALL THE QUARRY WANTS TO DO IS GET AWAY FROM ALL THE NOISE! I'D BE INTERESTED TO HEAR FROM ANY GOOD HONEST RUSSELL MEN OUT THERE PLEASE AS EVENTUALLY I WILL HAVE TO FIND MYSELF A GOOD RUSSELL PUP FROM GOOD BREEDING. I HAVE 3 TERRIERS, ALL BRED BY MYSELF AND CAN BE TRACED BACK TO (GRIPTON'S) DOGS WHO WAS GREAT FRIENDS WITH MY BROTHER AND MYSELF.PERHAPS IN THE FUTURE I WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW COMPANION TO TAKE OUT. HOWEVER, I DON'T WANT ANY KNOW-ALLS, BIG HEADED GUYS OR PEOPLE WHO GO BACK ON ONE'S LAND.ALL LAND WILL BE SUPPLIED BY MYSELF. I CAN TAKE MANY FRIENDS OUT BUT AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME I WANT TO MEET SOME GENUINE GUYS OR LASSES IF THEY WOULD BE INTERESTED?I AM STILL GETTING BETTER IN MY HEALTH SO I NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN USE A 'SHOVEL'. STRICTLY NO TIME WASTERS PLEASE. AND IT WOULDN'T BE JUST YET DUE TO ME BEING IN HOSPITAL FOR THAT LONG.PLEASE IF YOU WISH PLEASE SEND ME A PRIVATE MAIL PLEASE. GOD BLESS! DOCTOR DOLITTLE.....
