dennned 172
is'nt there a racing competition , other than beat the clock, anyhow , how do you beat the clock without 2 beams , one at the start and finish , all connected to a clock??? just asking cos i find it hard to believe that dog did 4.78, ffs greyhounds cant do it that fast, an i'm pretty sure your average grey , would beat any lurcher , mine included

They break a beam at the beginning, thus starting the clock, and then break the beam at the end, thus stopping the clock. All linked to a timer via radio. There is also straight racing; 1000 guineas. The end beam can and has been triggered by the lure but when you get a time of 2.5 seconds it becomes obvious especially when most owners slip there dogs way after the lure has gone. Add to this, when I drive the lure, it's at max speed for the full run. The guinea's is a an open event so you can enter anything. In fact a retired greyhond was runner up in the final last year.
