KittleRox 2,147
Depends on how and on what it jacked? With toothed quarry it may just get too much work for it to handle? some of the scooby boys will be putting several in front of a dog a night, most nights of the week. Not many dog's can take that kind of strain so would give up, but for most of us if we had the same dog we would never test them that hard so we'd never find out if they'd jack or not? Then again, some dogs just don't like getting bitten. As for Rabbits, I didn't realise dogs would jack on them??? Do they just stop running them or what? Some collie types will decide the rabbits going to get away so will turn back or won,t even bother having a run at it Quote Link to post

Guest born to run1083
I've only seen one dog jack, not from wanting to not run, it just not having the wind to run any more there legs lock up and start to twitch horribly and they cant even walk, they act like there extremely drunk, this dog was a lithium battery would work on full power all night then just die without any for sure signs she was gonna do it. The last run would be just as strong as the first. Went out with her quite alot. First time it happened the bloke thought he might be able to get it fitter then she already was second time sent to a pet home as there was no excuses. Only dog I've seen jack most keep going but just slow down Quote Link to post
suffolkpoacher 219
myself i havent got kennel space or time for a dog which does not work its hard enough to keep a working dog out all the time with work and so on.so i could not keep a jacker.and dont fancy cleaning up shit and that for a dog which ant giving anything back, but would also not pass it on to others ,so pet home or pts . STUNTMAN 552
This might sound like BS but most of mine that jack I KNOW that they will before they jack, so they get fired. I put up with allot more than most i know and some I wait on too long when i know what the deal is already. Allot get fired for other things before they jack anyway, barking, temp, conformation, size ect. If you race greyhounds then you know the numbers are there already. Very few litters make it when the norm is really one or two from a litter and its no differnt with hunting sighthounds, but some are willing to live with it and thats on them to each there own. Only dog I've seen jack most keep going but just slow down sounds to me like that dog got hypoglysemia not jacked ,,, its blood sugar has gotten to low for the amount of running that was asked of it.... not evry dog has the same amount of wind in the tank, after all there flesh and blood not machines. 6 Quote Link to post

Would you say, Tomo, that a fair few people don't know that (sadly) and call a dog a jacker when, in fact, it isn't? Quote Link to post
