DottyDoo 500
Do you really need to breed "just one litter"? Does anybody? A check round the net today gives: 59 lurchers for sale on Epupz 115 lurchers for sale on FreeAds 276 lurchers for sale on Preloved 105 lurchers for sale on Pets4Homes 26 lurchers for sale on Adtrader 294 lurchers for sale on Oodle (Scotland only) 875 dogs, roughly. Ok not the most scientific way of doing it but however you look at it, that's a LOT of dogs. Enough, already. Then there's all those for sale on specialist sites like this; the "known name" line breeders; ads in newspapers; sold or given away amongst mates and sold to "blokes in pubs". Then there's all those dumped, straying, and in pounds, shelters and rescue. sad but true............ Quote Link to post

6pack 60
Also who cares if theres loads of lurchers for sale and in the pounds there not our problem That mentality is why they end up in the pound. Lurchers are now the 3rd most populous dog in the pounds. An estimated 150 dogs a week are PTS in pounds across the UK. Or look at it this way - how much does a tax payer pay to keep pounds open? To feed and kennel those dogs. To pay vets to euthanise, plus disposal of the body....the costs mount up cos peeps like you think it's ok to just keep breeding cos it aint your problem! Where's that w@nker emoticon? Quote Link to post
