My kids have been around all these things since they were babies....my girls were helping to gut rabbits at 2 and my boy was elbow deep in gralloch at 18 months.....its normal to us and I never made any type of deal about it, so its no big thing to them either.

As I explained to them, its more "weird" to eat iradiated food that comes in plastic bags than it is to kill, gut and skin game.

That child is far braver than me - I'd struggle to stand next to the ferret, never mind pick it up  They're creatures of satan as far as I'm concerned. I've got mates with ferrets and I let the kids handle theirs, but I know my limits

Mine help me gut rabbits and such tho, no point in letting them grow up being squeamish about things. They learn while I learn, and so far, so good
