woodj 33
I put my lamp battery on charge yesterday morning, and after about 4 hours, it was saying it was fully charged, i didnt think it would be as it was tottally flat before i put it on, i turned it off and back on again and on the deban charger, the green light would stay on for about 10 seconds then just fade out. I went out last night for a look out and it didnt last no time at all, so it wasnt fully charged. What do you think it will be the battery or charger???? Quote Link to post

lapin2008 1,587
i only got the battery last year and its been 100% up until now. Why would the charger say it was full after only a few hours though??? Not about why the charger would say that, most likely your battery was charged but is just not holding the charge very long, this happens by being left flat or being not used for a long time. You may be able to get some life back into it by charging it fully and then flattening it again and repeating this loads for a couple of weeks, I have done this in the past with good results. What i do now if i know that i am not going to be using my lamp for a while i put it on one of those automatic timers that puts the charger on for 15minutes a day just to try keep it ticking over Edited June 21, 2011 by lapin2008 Quote Link to post

nighteyes 275
most likely the battery,my deban charger is a 500 ma which takes a couple of days to charge a 20 amp,but make sure its on 12v ive done it before when picking up the charger and flicked it to 6v Quote Link to post
rapidjenky 97
battery sounds goosed to me mate. no battery should be left flat and you should try not to ever flatten one even if your going to recharge straight away. always keep them fully charged. the new lithium battery's should never be allowed to go fully flat. Storm da bull 7
De ironised water does the trick if it a top up one to me it sounds like the cells are nacked that's why it not holding charge as said above never let them go totally flat I always leave my plugged in that way it's on constant drip charge. It told me to do that on the instructions mate Quote Link to post
