CorkyJohn 808
Looks a strong little lad, was he any good as a digging dog? Wouldave got me into trouble buddy. He hated cats. I was given him because of his worrying and worked him a fair few times but he was far too hard for me. Guys on here that know me know that i keep Russells and most of mine are bayers, I have no place in my kennels for nutcases, I want them all to get along and do what they are bred for not to have them in sick bay everytime they go out. I have Megan, my 8 year old bitch whom i have dug 28 foxes with and she has been nipped twice. During all these digs and before anyone starts, Most times i dropped one hole as she sits a foot away screaming her head off and doing what i want her to do which is to hold her quarry at bay. I have 7 dogs and like to try and give them all a go. Del Megan. You've had 28 foxes with her last season or in her whole working life? Quote Link to post

I was thinking the same thing, 28 over 8 years is 3.5 foxes a year. Not knocking it but its hardly a taxing workload. Cracking looking little bitch either way. Quote Link to post
Lab 10,979
how did he fair out with the bobcat? i would think they would be tough enough. They are seriously tough animals and they have razor sharp claws that come out like lightning. Buster managed to bay this one up untill the hounds came. Even one on one with a fox hound, these critters are mean. He got 3 during my two week trip and when i left, the guy was over the moon with him. He sent old Buster to the vet for 3 days to have semen taken off him to be frozen coz he was so happly with the way he worked. Buster has sired a lot of pups in Georgia. Sometimes wish i had kept him but he was far too hard for my use, Del. Hi Del............i have very limited knowledge in terrier so bare with me please but if Buster was too hard for you then why was it a cracking baying dog in the USA. Has it learnt quickly what its dealing with in these Bobcats?.... Quote Link to post
judge2010 196
Here is a pic of Buster, a Jack russell i took out to Georgia working a bobcat. He turned out to be a cracking working dog, Del. great stuff mate, very jealous. Is it possible for a dog to take on\kill a bobcat\lynx? Quote Link to post

BOLIO1 1,078
There was an American hunting mag 40 or 50 years ago that featured a picture of a working type Airedale in combat with a bobcat on the front cover, such was the esteem in which the fighting ability of the cat was held verses a dog that weighed around 50-60 lbs. BOLIO1 1,078
Sure is pal, Hank jr has some great stuff out but Hank the third sounds just like his grandpa.....when he steers clear of the punk crap. No doubt you have the Three Hanks cd? I'll have the iconic, "I'll never get out of this world alive" played at my funeral. Sorry again K9delboy Edited June 20, 2011 by BOLIO1 Quote Link to post
