Smooth Deerhound Blooded Lurchers

Recommended Posts

I never expected her to be so small, but am very pleased with how she is turning out. She's still very young, last season was her first, and I didn't get out with her as much as I'd have liked to - I think shes going to be useful, and am looking forward to the start of the coming season :)

a couple of photos of her taken by a friend of mine, whilst out ferreting

This is a bitch I bred in the 80`s, and like I say, some of my stuff did have lugs like her....only when she was alert, she is 10 years old on this picture..

Thanks Gareth..this was the best all round bitch Ive ever owned

her sire was a first cross deerhound/ greyhound, her mother was a lurcher x lurcher with some deerhound and collie in her..

No matie, left them in the 80`s where they belong

Yes I can definitely see the resemblance, especially her ears  and very similar breeding too... is that Bess? She looks well in the photo for her age :)

Mozrick, seven months old and 27".

This will be the first season in 15 years that I'm not running a bull X. Bringing this pup on so far has been a real pleasure and has shown me that mixing things up a bit with a totally different type of lurcher was just what I needed to give the game a whole new breath of keenness.

Lovely fog mate. Hows he bred?

Sire - first cross Deerhound Greyhound

Dam - Collie Greyhound X Deerhound Greyhound with apparently a 5/8 bully in its grandparantage but who can tell. I saw the sire and dam when I picked him up as a pup and they were nice enough muts, the chap who bred them worked both parents hard and that was good enough for me.
