Bosun11 537
You can buy a rice cooker for about a tenner, they are just about the simpelest things you could use, simply measure the water to the rice and push the 'on' button. Perfect rice every time, mines lasted about 15 years and still goin strong. For chilli, add chopped onion and saffron for flavor and colour. For a curry, saffron, turmeric and ground corriander. scalesntails 118
When I lived in Korea my girlfriends mother taught me the perfect way to cook rice. Get mug and fill it with rice then tip it into the saucepan. Add 1 1/2 cups of cold water per cup of rice to the saucepan. Turn the ring on full and put a lid on the saucepan. Once the rice is boiling turn off the ring and ignore it until all the water is absorbed. Perfect rice everytime. You will need 1 to 1 1/2 cups for 2 people depending how much they eat. I normally use 2 big mugfulls for the wife 2 kids and myself.

I don't bother because rice is supposed to be a bit sticky but people seem to like it dry over here. If you want it dry just put the rice in a sieve before the saucepan and rinse until the water runs clear.
TOMO 26,638
heres an eisier way.... basmati rice is best for this...... put a mug full in a microwavable bowl,, add 2 cups of cold water,,, then 12 mins on full power,,, job done. you might have to alter your times slightly as each microwave is difrent. a mug full is plenty for me ,my mrs and my 8 year old, if you want more like 2 mug fulls of rice just double your water and cook for longer
