Lamp Man 14 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 seen a few decent deerhoundxs mainly made up of deerhound collie types and a bit of beddy in the mix decent alrounders back 15 20 odd year ago , never seen a first cross or pure work tho so cant really coment on that they dont seem to be as many types about these days Quote Link to post

Had em in the 's mate decent dog then tings move on have you seen a pure deerhound latley A lad near me has one now, biggest I've seen, 34 tts, but he's not a working dog and wasn't bought with work in mind. Not sure what lines he from, but a very big dog. A mate of mine from treforest used his mate's pure deerhound dog to cover his greyhound bitch in the 's, bitches about 27" 28", and the dog he kept back was 30". All made excellent workers, but the dog was awesome. But like you say, they weren't pure. I have a bitch pup now c/g x d/g which I'll be taking to welsh game fair tomorrow and she's just under 29", but very agile. Quote Link to post
