Dog Attacked

Recommended Posts

The staff was a bull baiting dog not a dog on dog fighter originally.Regardless i truely think that a lot of it is down to youngsters who know fine well what they have on the end of a lead they just dont care and when it goes wrong the dog lands in a rescue shelter to be killed. They dont even have the balls to see it through themselves.I know a lad who originally took the dog an 8/9 month old pup to the police station this is a lurcher btw not a staffy said it mauled the youngest kid when it hadnt he thought it might though so dogs sitting in a cat and dog home cos he isnt man enough to pts himself.Told the kids the police shot it this is a prime egsample of tits owning dogs.

Your wrong the bulldog was bred to fight bulls then when the terrier was bred to the bulldog making the 'bull and terrier aka staffordshire bull terrier they were used for dog fights, also used for badger baiting but their main purpose was dog fighting. ;)

Spot on

It was onlt the Bull Terrier that was breed for the gentlemen about town.As by the time Hinks had produced what He wanted, dog fighting was banned.Yes I know there is a small minoroty of so called real dog men out there that enjoying nothing more than letting there dogs rip each other to pieces.

Reading some of the comments on how people pull dogs apart does make Me think perhaps they have never seen this. Many moons ago My two stud dogs managed to get at one another, a kennel door left slightly a jar, and boom. No growling, sniffing Just at it and by the time I had run the 30 foot or so to them they had a real hold of one another. Tried choking off each other hard to do on Your own with two dogs. Impossible springs to mind. Thankfully we have a large koi pond in the garden I managed to push them in there. They let go and I managed to grab one of them and get him in his kennel with the other in hot pursuit. End result was one with some nasty front leg punctures, the other the one in My avatar had a shattered hock. Took the dogs days to calm down. How people can go along and watch this for fun is beyond Me. One of the most horrific things I have ever seen, and hope I never see anything like this again

Don't listen to people who say that the dog is unlikely to run again: I've seen much worse on my own dogs, and they have healed fine. Obviously the bruising is a concern, and yes, the wound could brea

staff's are on another level excluding apbt's of course. I'm not condoning what the staff did but its what it was bred to do. The fault lies at the handlers feet.

yeah mate that'll do the breeds involved image a world of good plastered on the front of the echo. why even blame the dog?   it should imo be pts but only because most people couldnt care for it pr

AND DOUBLE THE MONEY OF OUR PUPS .....

You were spot on the first time, I have not breed a litter of pups for over 6 years, The litter before that was maybe up to 10 years ago. So yeah a real money spinner.Does make Me laugh how people ar so quick to point a finger on here. Quality at My kennel not quantity. For Your information I believe that something should be done to clamp down on breeding. To many people out there win a couple of rossettes think they know it all and churn crap litter after crap litter out. Then as there are so many pups they dont care where they sell them. I know others dont, but just my opinion to liscence bull breeds would be a good thing long term. Not a money spinner for the government. More of a register as where and who owns these dogs. So when situations as the title arise. The dog and its owner can be accounted for. With the minimum age limit, it may just keep a few dogs from falling into the wrong hands. I am sure many will just register there dogs with an older person, as with anything people will just bend things to suit them. Once a few people have been prosicuted or fined people will not be so quick to lie about a dogs ownership when the butt stops with them.

Not to stick my spoon into the pot but does anybody else think it's in slightly bad taste to argue the gameness/origins etc of bull breeds on a thread about a whippet who was attacked by some knob's out of control dog?

Maybe start a new thread ... they always turn into arguments anyway so you can do it there instead?

Funny how this post is going because this morning my 8month pup was bitten on his back leg by a little spaniel

we were just walking and it was on a exstendable lead it come belting over and took a chunk out of my pups leg it's a f**kin massive hole

took him to vet got him shaved and had him treated got some medication and some cleaning gear

luckly the vet diddnt charge me as my English bull terrier has a skin condition wich costs a sh*t load of money every year so did me a favour and let it slide

thank f**k he did

went round and had some words with the bloke and he is sorry and is offering some money for treatment which I diddnt accept as it cost me nowt anyway plus I am not the type of person

but my pup is limping feeling sorry for himself but should recover and be back to his hyper , funny self

I hear a spray gun filled with cold water can be effective, especially for nervous dogs i imagine.

i always carry a spare lead and breaking stick,so if a dog walks over acting dominant i just whip the lead on the floor in front of it,if it comes forward after that its going to kick off no matter what.

Thats what happens with Storm i now have to have him muzzled cos hes too big and pwerful and it would end up a real mess and i dont want the pigs at the door either.i tend to ignore mine and keep walking or move away from the other dog coming if i can to try and keep it all calm and normal sort of thing theres nothing you can do to storm to change his mind anyway and i wont try an electric collar either despite previous advice cos i dont see why he should be zapped for another dog approaching him hes muzzled so at least he cant get hold of the other dog he did burst a dogs gob open with the muzzle on once but could have been worse.people need to learn theres a time and a need for leads on dogs and a secure fitting collar or harness and to learn that if someones telling you there dog isnt ok not to shout and wave over ah its ok mines fine.Patrick hope the dogs doing well and feeling better and its all calmed down not a nice thing to have to deal with could have been a lot worse staffy v whippet is a wehippet owners worst nightmare

Well that sucks  Have you looked into the honey dressings? They're definately worth a bash. I assume your vet is suggesting grafts? ... be careful with that. Sometimes it's more logical for the dog to treat as an open wound. Suggest that and see what they say. Trust me.

Know that dogs owners would be getting a vet bill and although maybe wrong and out of anger at the time..id have to punch the twat owners. Doesnt matter if its a bull breed or a westie...if your dog is dog aggressive keep your dog on the lead...upsets me too see dogs getting hurt through the thought of stupid owners. Anyone who owns a bull terrier should have experienece in dogs and be confident enough to get hands on if needed...wouldnt be a problem if so many people didnt breed with more interest in the money than the home...90% of bull breed owners in this day and age probally dont know what a break stick even is.

My brother was walking my oldest dog lewy the whippet near are house, he could see 2 dogs across the road so they both crossed in oppostie directions and my brother started walking my dog ahead then heard the handlers shouting oh no, and there was a staffy going at my whippet, my brother kicked the dog off as much as he could buthe didnt really have much time so put the whippet behind him to protect it my dog was still on the lead and the staffy wudnt give in, eventually it got round my brother and got hold of him for a good 3 seconds rippping into him, whilst the 2 handlers couldnt get across the road but still didnt look keen to interact the shitbags :censored::wallbash: the staffy is known to be dangerous in the sanctuary and they didnt even fit the harness propally never mind thinkin about a mussle, the handlers then tried to argue with my older brother over him using bad language after there dog has jus ripped a chunk out my dog, heres a picture the vet said he should BE OKAY to run etc, but the only worry is is skin dying :/, anyone no how whippets shape up of a tear heres a picture.

Staffys get a bad rep they can be the nicest dog IF trained correctly. Sadly there are so many people out there who do not know how to train a dog or do not care that their dog is not properly trained. Dog owners should by law have to train their dog to a certain standard before they can risk the public with their dogs. If dog training was law I think it would solve of probs. I also feel they should ban all non registered breeders. There are too many back yard breeders breeding their dogs for a quick quid and what happens all these staffys/ staffy xs ending up being put to sleep because idiots breed them for a quick buck and see their dogs as money machines and not dogs.

Sorry end of rant. My lurcher (whippit x collie) is always cutting herself but I put alo vera gel on her cuts and she heals fast, I hope that helps.
