judge2010 196
staff's are on another level excluding apbt's of course. I'm not condoning what the staff did but its what it was bred to do. The fault lies at the handlers feet. Dog fighting was banned in the 1800`s so any fighting blood should be long lost. They should be nothing more than family pets now, as many are, until total dickhead owners who get hold of them or any other of the Bull breeds and think they like being hit constantly teased, encouraged to bite down on things and swung around by only the stregnth in there jaws, and baited to passing dogs on the street.Just to componsate for there own masculinity. Personally I believe that any bull breed should be liscenced, and a minimum age of ownership. Before anyone starts up saying Bollocks to that, look at the picture of this kids dog, then think where You fall responsible owner or a dickhead with a potential leathel dog. I am a Bull breed owner and have been for many years. I pride Myself on how as a family we rear our dogs. I am shocked this dog was not put to sleep. I know what I would be doing now, so this never happens again, to anyone one else`s dog or even worse a child. Quote Link to post
judge2010 196
I see someone got his facts wrong again lol.Ive known some excellent staffies and some awful ones theyre overbred just now and everywhere is over run with them.Pounds and rescues giving them out to desperately save them for the blue juice no proper assesments no nothing. The handler was at fault here no tight collar or harness.no muzzle no proper handling at all by sounds of things.Accidents can and do happen and when one of moine took a dog apart im insured for it and offered to pay the vet bill as my dog did slip his collar so in my opinion my fault for not checking it was tight enough he couldnt get out of it not to shout and ball and give the owner of the other dog grief.Had it not been my fault id have went berserk.Staffys are not the fighters theyre made out to be or at least most of them. Its bad handling and stupidity that makes a dog dangerous if you have a dog thats iffy muzzle it problem solved a leads another handy tool round here most owners wear it as a f*****g necklace though.Id be making them pay the vets fees and insisting this dog is not rehomed as it will no doubt end up in some Arseholes hands and god only knows what damage will be done then the do will end up dead anyway in the end.Staffies were not originally bred for fighting thats another load of shit some old wives tale and even if they were for arguements sake doesnt excuse it nor should it be tolerated im afraid i know plenty of staffy owners who either muzzle their dogs or walk their dogs at obscure times like myself to avoid any grief No offence mate but you have got your wires crossed, the EBT wasan't bred for dog on dog combat the staff was. Why do you think people took the staffords over to the USA with them? Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
It doesn't apply in the situation with the whippet but a lot of the problems with staffys stems down to the stupid laws in this country and how they're quick to jump on people for either stupid minor things or actually protecting themselves. 20 years ago if a teenager was strutting round with a staffy, letting it attack other peoples dogs or generally being threatening he wouldn't have lasted the day out without an adult or older kid giving him a damn good hiding. Same with these moron groups of teenagers that hang around gobbing off at people, all they need is one good kicking and they wouldn't do it again, simple. But people don't do it now because they know they'd run home blubbering and their parents would be straight round and straight onto the police, who would come down on you like a ton of bricks. Again, a few years ago the police wouldn't have given it the time of day. Either that or they'd pull a knife knowing that if they get caught with it they'll get a 'warning' or at worst community service and they won't get named for legal reasons. That's why chav culture exists and that's why virtually ever chav in the country is walking round with a staffy or another type of 'hard' looking dog. I was stood outside a shop with my mastiff last year waiting for my ma who was in the shop and a group of about 8 lads were walking along with an EBT. I used to keep my mastiff under very close control because he was ex rescue and very dog aggressive so I deliberately had his head facing in the opposite direction so he didn't see them approaching. I could hear them whispering to their dog deliberately winding it up telling it to "get him" etc. and as it got closer is tried to lunge which my dog heard and spun round to dive at theirs and nearly ripped my arm out. Luckily I had a strong hold of the lead because I was expecting it but I dread to think what would have happened if they'd have got together, they all sh@t themselves because they'll be used to terrorising old men with mongrels, stupid pricks! These chavs are walking round with their bull terriers, actually trying to get them to be aggressive but they've no idea what they've actually got on the end of their lead and just how deadly they can be. It's certainly not the dogs fault, any dog owned by people like this would end up the same way, and the one that attacked that whippet was probably owned by chavs before it went into the rescue centre. Staffys are brilliant little dogs if brought up right, as I'm sure many owners on here will testify. As for some of the people on here with their "take a pitbull round to kill it" or "don't you know someone with a big bull X", you need to take a bit of a look at yourselves because I hate to tell you this, all this chav culture people go on about......you're part of it! 1 Quote Link to post

Cold Ethyl 63
The staff was a bull baiting dog not a dog on dog fighter originally.Regardless i truely think that a lot of it is down to youngsters who know fine well what they have on the end of a lead they just dont care and when it goes wrong the dog lands in a rescue shelter to be killed. They dont even have the balls to see it through themselves.I know a lad who originally took the dog an 8/9 month old pup to the police station this is a lurcher btw not a staffy said it mauled the youngest kid when it hadnt he thought it might though so dogs sitting in a cat and dog home cos he isnt man enough to pts himself.Told the kids the police shot it this is a prime egsample of tits owning dogs. mackay 3,328
1rst of all go and slap staffy owner f*****g tits to try and blame someone else when theyre clearly in the worng.Your dog will heal fine im sure and will run again seen dogs in a lot worse states run again just keep it clean if it looks gooey or smells back to the vet.You brothers a better man than me last dog that flew at my lad who is muzzled nearly got strangled with the dog lead shouting my dogs ok lol eh well it seems to be embedded in my dogs neck so i donty think so.Id be telling them your paying my vets bills or a report the incident simple as that and make it clear you wont be so nice next timethat could have been an old lady with a dog getting bit trying to defend the dog.for future ref though choking is the most effective way to get them to let go of the other dog Ok I'll indulge you, it's the summer silly season Do you actually think you could choke a bull dog off another dog?. If you can then the dog isn;t worthy of the title bulldog or you've got arms like popeye. Done it with a staffy that attached itself to my bitches face wrapped the rope lead round the very top of its neck and swung for dear life took a while but it did eventually let go. So your swinging a bulldog about thats got your bitch by the face therefore swinging both of them about causing god knows how much damage to your dog and a combined weight of what?. Do you actually read what you post?. Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
I was most interested in getting of off my dog i was swinging from the dog not swinging the dog read it properly or dont read it at all Quote Link to post

Lets face it they are just feckin bullys, give them it back and they would shit there selves, if there staff had the shit shook out of it , and beleve me there some fit+working bullxs that could do it. . I know its going down to there level, but some times in life you have to now+again. And if they fecked my pup thats what would happen ,a year down the line Quote Link to post

shepp 2,285
it should be pretty simple,if your dog gets attacked sue the owner, people who just want to ban/license everything must be incredibly ignorant or have no concept of freedom. The only problem is compensation is little use if you end up with a crippled or dead dog. Quote Link to post
