staff's are on another level excluding apbt's of course. I'm not condoning what the staff did but its what it was bred to do. The fault lies at the handlers feet.

Don't listen to people who say that the dog is unlikely to run again: I've seen much worse on my own dogs, and they have healed fine. Obviously the bruising is a concern, and yes, the wound could break down and the skin die off, but nature is pretty miraculous and even if it takes a long time the dog will heal providing you follow the vet's instructions. As the vet has already told you the dog will run again, then listen to the vet, not someone on here who I doubt very much is a vet, or has had a great deal of experience.

Just keep him quiet, clean the wound VERY gently every day with salt water: a teaspoon of salt dissolved in half a litre of previously boiled water which has been allowed to cool to luke warm.

You might well end up with a scar with no fur on it, but that won't matter at all. Good luck.

yeah just hoping for the best, cleaning the wound etc, hope he gets better and he comes okay, keep u updated, thanks for the advice :)

Sorry to hear that mate. Skycat gives some excellent advice. By the looks of it your dog will end up with a huge scar though but once it is fully healed give another 3-4 months then rub some moisturiser or vaseline in it daily and that should encourage a bit of hair growth so it won't look so bad.

That looks a bad one mate. I'd do what a couple of the lads on here have suggested, as regards the vets fees. Good luck

yeah the sanctuary are covering it, still acted like pricks about it, weve always been helpfull walking the opposite way to them or allowing them through 5mins ahead then followed to its safe, no time for them now

F**king idiots

my granda had a stray dog wander into his farm it was a staffy cross at the time my granda had 10 dogs ranging from lurchers , English bull terrier, doberman and many more.

The stray dog grabbed a hold of my grandad's English bull terrier and wouldn't let go so my grandad's German shepard attacked the stray dog creating a massive brawl so all my grandad's dogs had a go at the stray

so my granda grabbed a plank of wood and hit the stray who still diddnt let go so he wedged the wood in it's mouth and hit it, it finally let go he grabbed the dog and locked it in the shed and called the police they took the dog and put it to sleep
