BULLDOUG 199
Im new also, so please dont take my advice, but i know some would have the cock with another hen now. I think this is why theres deviders in the center of breeding cages. Ive heard the cock will still feed the hen through the cage devider. Any photos please? ATB with your Muleing buddy. francolin 449
i aint a expert but i would move the cock incase of egg pecking if cage breeding, put it with next hen ,if no spare hen put cock back in when young get a bit of size see if he helps out ,just keep an eye on him.there are some on here who seem more qualified to answer your question if they notice the post

fireman 10,869
Leave the unhatched egg in there mate as it will help support the other chicks, was told to this myself and i watched a chick do that very thing when reaching for feed.Good luck with them getting on the sticks.. Meroman 105
Well done The hen is well capable of rearing the chicks by herself. The above advice is sound advice because the cock goldy may throw the chicks out of the nest in an effort to drive the Hen to nest again, leaving him in view of her will keep him keen for the next round because Goldfinches are usually in peak breeding condition about now, they come into condition later than other natives and fill eggs up to mid august when others are starting to moult. This time in the breeding season is the best for muling and hybrids...
