eyup chaps. my mates got a knackered old Diana mod 52 lying around not doing owt, so im mulling over trying to have it off him (mates rates, of coursewhistling.gif) for a refurb project. The barrel/shroud for some reason is CHROME??icon_eek.gif(looks like an old hoover pipe!) and turns very easily, the side-arm is disconnected from where it should be riveted to the action (the rivets or whatever that hold it on, the flattened heads have come off) it needs re-blueing, a new adjustable butt bad and it twangs like hell so probably needs new internals too. i dont think the stock is original as it has a cheekpiece that looks like it should be adjustable, with two spacers supporting a separate piece of wood from the rest of the butt. I think I'd keep the stock though as its in fairly good nick.

My questions are, has anyone ever done one of these up, how easy/hard are parts to find and is a tuning kit available and how costly is it all likely to be (cos if its gonna cost me the price of a gun anyway, I don't think i'll bother, as im skint as it is!)

It just seems a shame to have, what I understand to be, a classic German rifle just sat in disrepair not being appreciated.

Cheers in advance for any info.

Darren.
