harrycatcat 31
Hi, Could you guys recommend a good semi auto that I can use for wildfowling that will give me the option of using steel if need be. Thanks Mmmmmmmmmm that is a difficult question I think because for as many people answer you will get as many different opinions. I use a Winchester sx2, at a recent SLWC clay shoot there were a lot of pump action shotguns being used so thats another thought. Anyone else??

ANTHONYCHEZ 27
winchester sx3 i shoot, wouldn't buy cheap!!! your asking for problems
MOO 730
IMO rather than buy a new cheap semi like an escort or benelli buy a second hand berretta ...there is no better semi for reliabilty and quality
jclay91 12
i used an escort magnum last season, never had any problem, fired every cartridge i put through it and when pointed in the right direction it did the job winchester sx2 and 3 are good guns, benelli make some great guns an so do berettas. your best bet would be to go to a gun shop that has a good variety and pick them up, pull them to your shoulder, have a good look over them and get the 1 that fits you best plenty of over and unders will now take 3inch magnum steel loads webl;ey and scott 912 pointer 612 cheap guns that do the job if going out on a muddy estuary you will get the gun cake din mud so dont go buy something that looks flash and fancy, it will only get knocked and damaged any semi will do the job if you clean it well after using it hatsan escort had/have a bad name for not ejecting, i fired well over 5000 shots through myne and it never failed to fire and/or eject just make sure you cle4an it properly for the price of the gun and the warranty you get, you cant go wrong everyone has their own preference, just get the gun that suits your budget and fits your shoulder and eye! edit...i would recommend synthetic, but not a camo one, the camo guns have an undercoat of white and after abit of use the camo wears to reveal the nasty white Edited June 21, 2011 by jclay91

Lloyd90 509
What type of wild fowling will you be doing ? I was looking at guns the other day, some real nice ones, I saw a Benelli Super Nova, Pump Action shotgun, tons cheaper than a semi auto and was lovely to handle. Very tempted but I looking to join a wildfowling club on the coast so was told to avoid them as they can jam up from mud.
shcl21 0
i really like the beretta es 100, its made by benelli, i think for the price its a lot of gun, the only thing that lets it down imo is barrel lenght. it only comes in 28 inch.
samearl14 11
Iv got a second hand berretta a303 semi. 2 years ago cost me £300 and that was money well spent. I find it a quality gun, has never jammed or not ejected and iv put thousands of cartrdges through it. All varying weights and shot sizes. So for around the £300 mark, cant go wrong with one of these
