johnny boy68 11,726
I was right then lol..which dogs did you see Traveller and Co? Trust me i've ran with that and others loads of times and ran them so they ended up horizontal..KNACKERED!!! and that is FACT & was with an ugly cur, looks don't fill the game bag,the best Minshaw dog in Liverpool was 6 year old when it went there and was called Nigger..nowt else was better than half decent..the boys who owned em could talk the talk and liked to live off the reputation of the lads who had dogs of similar breeding and were ammassing the big hauls by running the gauntlet on the hottest land throughout the land..it WAS as simple as that and you can believe what you want??? Yes they did have one or two decent hauls but so does everyone and their jukels.. So you're saying that your "minshaw types" are the real "SUPER DOGS" and all the rest are poor imitations? What you going on about lol? What i said is that my dog ran Traveller and one or two others from Liverpool into a stupor..nothing more and nothing less matey..on more than one occasion,if you want to call em super than thankyou very much I'm not calling your dogs super...........I'm far too humble for that.I'll leave that to you Mr Andy "SUPER DOGS" Moore. Got pics of my mates bitch Cora and of Vic with his "challenge" out of the magazine ..all you have to do is ask if you'd like some knowledge on the dogs..or are you just a picture hoarder .ATB Andy. I've got an interest in lurchers Andy..........don't really care if its Victor Minshaw lines or feckin Victor Meldrew lines to be honest. These days people are more interested in if a dog as got a name attached rather than its working ability.Isn't the Brick's mate JB breeding minshaws aswell now? Be nice if the lurcher world was just differing lurcher types rather than names attached which just add kudos rather than working ability most of the time. 2 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,327
It's no different Johnny to the coursing dogs whether it be someones name,ie: Nuttall or Merlin & Eve as in bred down from dogs etc: personally i don't give a hoot what breed it's off or how they look,it's just i've kept this type for heading on for 30 years and the majority of em have served me very well so why change what ain't broke and look for something else? Yes there's better dogs out there for all variety of jobs but what they excel at suits my type of hunting,i've done my apprenticeship at this game infact i've served my time and then some,i've got to the stage now i just want to enjoy my dogs and kind of take things easier,i've put dogs infront of probably everything in my life and worked them to an extent that to be perfectly honest some have said was nigh on cruelty..but thankfully my troopers never swayed and galloped on relentlessly..i've nowt to prove to anyone when it comes to working lurchers as don't alot of other lads/lasses and when i get folks on the likes of these forums trying to shoot me down well it kind of pisses me off..people can call me what they want but i've walked the walk and then some more and one thing i am and thats truthful especially when it comes to dogs .ATB Andy. FUJI 17,327
how much do these Minshaw / not Minshaw / maybe Minshaws.... dog sell for .............. Nowhere near the price you'd pay for a coursing bred dog of that i could GUARANTEE you ..just to add as i've been called a puppy peddler more often than you could shake a stick at lol, many of the pups and young un's kicking around today out of my dog Jack were NOT bred by me personally, the last litter i bred at home was back in August of 1999..a dog is only worth what YOU think matey at the end of the day regardless of advertised prices .ATB Andy.
