tote 856
Hi lads and lasses I put this in the health section, last night. I have decided to put it in here as well to get some more feedback. I've just had a call from a mate who is concerned with his pups front leg. He asked me to put it on the forum and asked for your views/experiences. He has noticed there is a bend inwards,in his 11 week old pups leg below the wrist, he says the leg is pointing in the way,so the pup is only walking on the outside of it's foot,he says it seems like there is something loose below the wrist. The pups leg was fine when he got it at 7 weeks. One of his pals told him the bitch will grow out of it as he had a pup with similair symptoms on both front legs years ago and she was fine when she was older. Has anyone had a pup with the same condition? Any input will be appreciated. Quote Link to post

Most of the cases that I have witnessed came good after a change in diet (off the complete meal and onto the raw meaty bones,.etc,.etc,.) and with the inclusion of plentiful exercise and SUNLIGHT,...their bandy legs straightened up a treat...No saying this is the problem with your pals juke,.but I sincerely hope that it is ,..coz it is treatable;) All the best,.and good luck...cheers,..CHALKWARREN... socks 32,253
yep sounds to me like to much protein in the diet ... the bones grow quicker than the calcium thats needed to fill them causing hollow spots and the bones are soft and bend slightly ... change of diet will cure it in about a month ... but if it is that then limit the exercise untill the bones straighten otherwise you could have seriouse problems .... i know i have been there many years ago ............. Guest Lurcherbitch
Picked up a pup from dogs home a couple of years back, both front legs were seriously bent. They even let me take her befor the seven days cause she looked that bad they new nobody would collect her. Her legs came good after a few month of good food and limited exercise.x Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
If it feels as if there is something loose below the wrist I'd take it to the vet: pups can crack bones surprisingly easily, and if it is favouring the leg then it is obviously causing pain. I'm not a fan of rushing to the vet all the time, but if you want to be sure that your pup is not going to grow up wonky legged, I'd get it checked out. Quote Link to post
