TROY_BOY 62
hi guys, i was just wondering what would be a suitable age 4 a lurcher 2 start lamping imo the earlier the better try take him out with an experienced dog he will learn much faster also gets all the bad trates out earlier (like wanting to play with other dogs)he will soon know his job imo you can't do the pup any harm taking him lamping on rabbits from 8 month upwards it's all a learning curve Quote Link to post

Casso 1,261
hi guys, i was just wondering what would be a suitable age 4 a lurcher 2 start lamping each to his own, but i prefare to let a pup mature and develop some sort of understanding with me, before i introduce it the the most exciting it will have experienced, what i want is some control and a dog that sees me as his best bud, and only through me does he get to hunt not a big fan either of having a pup out in a situation i cant completely manage, seen young dogs receive a blast off a fence out, and make completely wrong associations with it, not saying it happens in every case, but the younger the pup the bigger the negetive association with whatever, mental scars at a younger age dont wear off, 10 months was an age my father started them, maybe right for some , the age thing is only a number, i would be looking at the dog ,not the calender,,best of luck 1 Quote Link to post
