Welcome to the forum tenbob, i will try and give you a quick run down on NV and you need to give me some more info. (1) what is your budget ? (2) what range are you hoping to shoot ? (3) do you want an add-on or dedicated ? Right thats the three questions i need to know and here is some info for you to read. Add-on night vision Monocular Generation one from about £200 to £600 should see a rabbit at 20 to 100yards max shot around 80yards. Generation 2 from about £700 to £1500 should see a rabbit at 20 to 250 yards max shot around 210yards Generation 3 from about £1800 to £4000,should see a rabbit at 20 to 500yards max shot around 400yards Digital from about £200 to £1000 should see a rabbit at 20 to 200yards max shot around 150yards. Then you will need a DSA cage to put the Monocular on to your day scope which are around £100 to £140. then you need an ir laser as you won't see a lot through your day scope at night without one these cost around £110 to £300, also the day scope will need to be some thing like a 3-16x56 with a side wheel or similar, you might need a NV spotting scope aswell as the field of view isn't that great and you don't really want to be waving a rifle about, NV spotting scopes vary in price from £100 to £4000+ Dedicated night vision Generation one from about £200 to £800 should see a rabbit at 20 to 100yards max shot around 80yards. Generation 2 from about £700 to £3000 should see a rabbit at 100 to 200 yards max shot around 200yards. Generation 3 from about £1800 to £4000+,should see a rabbit at 200 to 400yards max shot around 300yards. Digital from about £800 to £1400 should see a rabbit at 20 to 200yards max shot around 150yards. Will still need an IR laser at around £110 to £300 Good idea is to find someone in your area who can show you what its like so put a post up and start asking. Most Dedicated night vision scopes have a max of x6 and add-ons can be taken up to x32 depending on the day scope. Don't buy anything unless you know what the unit is like and try to buy the once as NV can be very expensive so get as much money as possible and buy the best you can afford Edited June 12, 2011 by pestcontrol121
