jf1970 328 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Share Posted June 12, 2011 hi mate, if your bitch is only going into her 6th week then as you will probably know she will still have another 4wks to go, she is only just over half way through her pregnancy yet, it could be another couple of weeks before you see a difference in her appearance, the usual gestation period for a dog is 63 days, give or take a day or 2, atb with your litter Quote Link to post

Cold Ethyl 63 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Share Posted June 12, 2011 The whippet i have here was massive at 6 weeks although we didnt know how far on at the time.She was like a bag of worms with all the pups bouncing around i would imagine a lot hinges on the size of the dog etc and the breeding.Has she put on weight etc you get a discharge as well a week or two beforehand Quote Link to post

Cold Ethyl 63 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Share Posted June 12, 2011 A scan for the whippet cost me £ i get a 25% discount and my vets really good to us doesnt charge for a lot of stuff etc.So no it wont be cheap but for about £20 they can consult and give the dog a feel and tell you if theres pups there or not the only thing they wont be able to tell you this way is size or how many Quote Link to post
