skycat 6,173
Her feet look completely different on the photos of her on the beach. Lovely looking bitch you have there: I'd love to know her breeding: doesn't look anything like the Saluki Whippets I've seen: could be forgiven for thinking there's a dash of Collie in there too: not that it matters how she's bred: a stunner in anyone's book IMO  Quote Link to post

Looks very similar to my saluki/whippet/grey but the feathering on mine is near enough gone and mine is darker in colour. I'll try and find where the wife put the camera if I can. Quote Link to post
Moll. 1,770
Vets verdict is a little soft tissue damage....no signs of bone or joint trouble...thats a relief !! lots of rest and short lead walks for a week and a course of anti inflam. I would still get her to a bone man if you can. Anti infam's and rest is the standard treatment from most vets, as they are not normally specialised in running dogs. The 'soft tissue damage' diagnosed by the vets will not be the reason for the stiffness she has had for a while in the back legs. Quote Link to post
poyner111 5
She is on raw tripe and Burges lurcher mix.....but she has dropped weight after her season down from 19kg to 17kg slowly getting back up now. runs on sand, down land, and casual walks in the park on pavement and grass so is mixed ground? must have running dog vets in my area with the dog track in Brighton so i'll do a little research. Tiny 7 1,694
Likes been said id go too a bone for a second oppoion, And if they cant find nothing, Then id build her fittness up slowly but get her as fit as possible cause thats what could be doing it, Shes over doing when soft/out of condition can cause pulls/strains/tears ect and make her lame again and again. Atb with her and hope you get sorted T 7 (And on feeding id try all diffrent meats chicken/rabbit/beef/venison/lamb/mutton/fish as your by the sea, and if shes fussy trying cooking them first add a bit of veg and make a broth type thing, And if she eats it just cook the meat less and less till shes eating them raw) Quote Link to post
Tyla 3,179
If your close to the Brighton track you will find that, wierdly, there are no greyhound vets about. The closest is Lingfield, PM me if you want the number. Quote Link to post

Good point Moll: should have put that pet dog vets aren't trained nor do they have their 'eye in' regarding soft tissue damage: bit like the difference between a GP doctor and a trained sports physiotherapist. I've found tendon and muscle damage totally missed by a small animal vet. Sport horse vets are a bit better, but a Greyhound vet is the best. Quote Link to post
