advice please fellow ferreters

You shouldn`t need to seperate them from the Jill mate. Unless there is a problem ,like they are taking too much out of her and she is obviously distressed. The Jill could go back in with the Hob no problem,, but again she may come back into season, so keep an eye on her.. I`d leave her in with the kitts bud

I agree mate, Don't know why the rush to put her back with the Hob. I usually leave the jill with the kits until they go to the new homes as long as you give them pleny of food (soaked ferret food, dry ferret food and rabbits/meat in the evenings) there shouldn't be a problem with kitts pulling a jill down. I've a jill here with 14 kits and she's putting weight on as there getting plenty of food.

Jills can come back into season, i had a jill last year that only had a couple of kits and she lost them after just 2 days. She came back into season after a couple of weeks.

No Mate there not hard to train, when you first take the young ones out try and find a couple of small warrens between 2-5 holers, they'll get the hang of it in no time. It's best having a good dog that marks too that way you know if there are rabbits at home, otherwise you may think the ferrets are useless when in fact it could be that the rabbits wern't at home!!. When you have run the young ones through the warren put your old jill through to see if they've missed any. Don't expect them to work big warrens first time out it may take a few outings for the penny to drop especally if there late bred ferrets, i never expect too much out of them until the middle of November there first season is a learning curve.
