purebred bulls for earthwork?

Recommended Posts

hello to everyone,

i was talking with a friend a few days ago, and we had a conversation about the use of purebred staffords (or in general bullbreeds) for earthwork. he was saying that he was told that there are some lines of f.ex. pure working staffords (not patterdale x bull crosses) that were selectively bred for less size so that they can work through the earths without problem.

i was and still am not sure if i can believe this is true since he could not name a kennel or something, and therefore i am asking here. for me there are a lot of aspects that would speak against something like that, and one of the major things is the disposition of the working bulls. but also the physical structure of these dogs that would make it difficult for them to do the job.

but one never knows...what do you think / know?

best regards

Chris

I reckon any one would be a fool to try, unless they had all day and didn't give a ferk about where they were hunting.

English Bull i had years back would try to get to ground but what a carry on and them things think they know best. :big_boss:

The smaller stuff has been added to a slack handfull of breeds to increase bone and power but there are better breeds for earth work and they stand out from the crowd ;)
