Recommended Posts

was waiting for someone to put that up.

ived fished them lakes alot, they are only 10mins from me.

personally think its a stitch up, i mean who takes £5000 worth of takle fishing let alone owns £5000 worth of takle.

my father has all top of the range tackle, he has more rods, reels, end tackle etc than i would ever own but doesnt take the lot whan he goes..

all the men and women around the area are very sceptital as to whether the story is an insurance job :hmm:

he's probably exaggerating the value to milk the insurance a bit maybe?....which I totally understand considering how much they get out of everyone, but I don't doubt the story's true.

To be honest when you think about how much tackle is worth is surprising it doesn't happen more often considering what scumbags are out there, they probably don't do it that often because you never know either a) how handy the lad is or B) whether he's got a fishing knife in his pocket.

This has gone on for years(in east London anyway). I was especially aware of this when I was in my early teens, this all changed when hairs appeared from my chin, then I quite looked forward to the challenge. Having a terrier was always a help, I can remember collecting a few extras from an unwanted encounter  made up for a couple of pay offs a number of years before.

Quite easliy when Daiwa produced a Pole with a RRP of 7.5K. The Tournament 710.

Last weekend i was Carp fishing with 2 mates who probably had that amount of kit with them. Didn't stop them blanking though.:laugh:

The Wraysbury area is pretty bad, loads of chav/p***y types round there.

Had them rock up at 3 in the morning when I was fishing Kingmead midweek and all on my lonsome once.....they had stood up on the bank 6 handed earlier that day and eye balled all my kit.

Told them to f**k off and was ready and waiting in the wee small hours.

Lucky, I was fishing the spit of land by the bridge and they obviously couldnt work out how to get on there, only a narrow ditch seperates it from the main bank but that was enough to put a halt to there plans other wise it could have been emmotional.

To put it in perspective, incidents like the one in the link are nasty, but very rare thankfully.
