Regards Hcc If anyone knows where I can get some Khaki Campbell's or good laying ducks at a reasonable price please let us know otherwise it will be the egg route. peacockks 2
I have 5 hens, Home made house and run (costing no more than £50 in total) and they cost me around £17 per 6 - 8 weeks to feed (layers pellets and mixed corn which is optional). They lay minimum 4 eggs per day (one has now become broody so is sitting on 6 fertilised eggs), and I sell the eggs for £1 per 1/2 dozen. This is enough for supplying friends and for giving us the eggs we need. Money making aside, there is nothing like going into your hen house and picking up your fresh eggs for your late breakfast!! Secondly, they are facinating creatures giving good therapy to de-stress after a crappy day!!
