MissRhianL 70
When i went to view my 1st lurcher pup 2yrs back i bought a pup advertised collie x grey x saluki x bull. dam: bull x collie x grey. Sire: Saluki x grey. A few weeks later had a message from the boy stating there is no bull in the dam. Another few weeks later had another message saying there was deerhound in the breeding. I did say i wasnt happy payin all that money for a pup when its the breeding that i didnt want otherwise i would of bought a different dog, but i was happy in keeping him and how ever he turns out thats wat he is longs if he did the job i didnt care. I just found out 2 days ago that my dog Buck who sadly died a week back, the breeding of him was actually dam: collie x whippet x grey. Sire: saluki x grey. So just wanted to know if this has ever happened to you been blagged a dog of its true breeding?

malone 1
happens a lot,but try to minimise it by only buying of lads who breed for them selfs not people people breedin for money, even david hancock you know what your getting breed wise/
Guest dances
i bought a my little bitch of fordie on here, i had asked for a little dog for rabbiting that got abit of bull in. so he pmed me saying she was bull/grey x saluki/whippet. once i went up and bought her (out of pitty to be perfectly honest) i got in contact with her breeder and turns out shes actually: collie/greyxgrey X saluki/grey X staff/grey across a whippet bit different in my opinion
bird 9,861
i think unless there 2 breeds in the mix, its a pot luck what comes out.But lurcher to lurcher make very good pot fillers, if you really wanted a pre ban fox dog you would go for a well bred bullxgrey, or hare dog a good coursing line bred dog. romany52 313
Truth of the matter is, most folks don't know what they've got once it's lurcher to lurcher for a few generations, gets so complicated, it's like Chinese whispers.Look at the parents and take it from there. Once you start multiple crossing there is know way of knowing what percentage of what is in there anyway. Just look at pics of the same crosses on here, they're like chalk and cheese. You pay your money and take a chance.

artic 595
If you buy off Tom, Dick or Harry then it's pot luck what you will get. Stick to genuine people who are honest. If your lucky enough, see the parents work through various seasons, and go from there. Not saying that the Heinz variety of dogs make unsuitable workers.
