mikeyblue 28
Hi Mate, Try The Morra Clipper. Absolute bargain at around twenty quid. Awesome knife, keep a great edge. Cant reccomend these enough. Ive had one for years, gutted and breasted many quarry, never let me down. I have other more expensive bushcraft knives but this is the one I keep in my field bag. http://www.lakelandbushcraft.co.uk/acatalog/Mora_Knives.html Hope this helps, Mikey. Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
as above mate, mora's are brilliant for the money. the carbon steel version holds a sharper edge for longer but you must remember to oil it after use or it'll go mingin and pit. cheers, wurz Edited June 8, 2011 by gurtwurz Quote Link to post

andyfr1968 772
what you all reckon bout the bear grylls because i can get a scout for a £10 of somebody A friend of mine got one for her son and I thought for the retail price it was a bit of a rip-off but for a tenner, that's pretty good if it's pukka and not some cheap copy. mikeyblue 28
Im weary about buying Ray Mears or Bear Grills merchandise. I think you are paying for the name rather than the product! Although as Andy says, £10 sounds a decent price. Best thing to do is have a hold and see how it feels in your hand. Mikey. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
The Mora are pretty much unbeatable, and you're not going to be too distraught when you inevitably leave it in a field somewhere. I have a Frost, which is basically the same knife, and it's gralloched a couple of hundred deer, plus hundreds of rabbits paunched and pigeons breasted out, and a few strokes of the steel keep a nice kken edge on it. Definitely go for the carbon steel bladed one if you can find it, the stainless blades tend to chip easily. Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Mora clipper. 10 quid job done Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
cant see the point of the serrate section on the bear grylls knives, bit pointless(no pun intended)since theyre difficult to sharpen and arent really any good as a saw.youre much better off with a good standard knife edge than owt gimmicky. cheers, wurz Quote Link to post
