Rabbiting man 1,191 Posted June 8, 2011 Report Share Posted June 8, 2011 6 week before the start of the season is when it really start to get the dog fit for the season i always make sure the dog is well wormed and flead before i start diet chicken mixed veg bit of oil and a few extras codliver oil multi vitimins week 1 4 miles in the morning on the road evening just let the dog have a gallop of the lead once kenneled let him have a bone just to keep him his teeth clean and stop him getting board week 2 4 miles at a quick walking pase in morning with a bit free running at the end evening same as week 1 week 3 monday 3 quick miles on road with bike evening bit free running and few retrives tuesday run 4 miles with few sprints evening free running retrives wednesday friday sunday repeat monday tuesday thursday saturday week 4 one day bike 5 miles at quick pase with evening free running and retrives next day walk 5 miles evening free running and gallops up a very steep hill week 5 same as week 4 week 6 bike 5 miles at medium pase each morning free run at end evening free running and gallops few retrives if the weather is wind and no moon a few runs on lamp over the season just matain his fittness with 4 mile walking each day and free running this works well for me gets me fit for the season also no point the dog being finely tuned and me huffing and puffing all the best robert I do almost the same as you Quote Link to post
