Attack Fell Terrier 864
I never got to watch it, I had my Sky sports turned off after they kept on trying to hike up the prices . Don't sound as if I missed much though. Who won in the end? Some Morrocan fighting out of Bermondsey won it ...he was the fella Lynes lost to in the semi....the only people in the whole arena who thought he beat Lynes were the judges !....they were decent fights up till that but the final was a complete shambles....im probably biased but Colin Lynes was by far the best fighter in the tournament and justice wasnt done unfortunately. Thats a shame, unfortunately its not the first time there's been a completely shit decision been made by the judges in that Prizefighter. That's a thought, what was the worst decision you've ever seen in boxing? It may take some thinking? but for some reason the Woodhall vs Catley title fight has just sprang to mind. Even Richie Woodhall said after the fight that he thought Glenn had won it. It's horrible to see a lad box the bollox off his opponent then ends up being robbed blind after all the hard work he'd put in .

Thats a good one.....seen plenty in small hall fights but of the bigger fights Off the top of my head Lewis - Holyfield 1 takes some beating Others would be Leonard - Hearns 2...the last Ali - Norton fight....De la Hoya had some strange decisions in the late 90,s....One of the most ridiculous ive been witness to was at the Goresbrook in Dagenham 6 or 7 years ago David Barnes was fighting Jimmy Vincent,Barnes was getting battered every round,Frank Warren wanted to pull him out around the 9th but he had a decent next round only for the ref to raise his hand at the end ....it takes a lot for Frank to be embarrassed when a decision go,s his way....but he was that night. Still got to be Lewis/Holyfield for the worst i think....how about you ?
Stanleigh 135
Eubanks benefited from a lot of dodgey decisions because he was a big draw for the micky mouse association he was champion of , the first Watson fight springs to mind , but there were LOTS of others . Eubank/Watson 1 J.C Chavez/Whittaker Mosley/De La Hoya And I thought Morales losing to Maidana a wee while ago wasn't the right decision. Probably not up there with the worst decisions of all time but I didn't think it was right. Hey - an aside - I remember watching Kirkland Laing in the 80s I loved to watch him. Tons of skill and style - wonder how often his head was in the right place tho. I was a big Colin Jones fan and well remember ones sparking Laing out twice in the 9th with cracking left hooks. Jones fell short with McRory and was butchered by Curry - loved his attitude. I wonder where Kirkland Laing is nowadays? Gnasher maybe you can shed some light??? My pal Lloyd Hibbert was Jones' Chief sparring partner for the Laing bouts so he tells me. He had a few words with Laing after one of his fights when Laing called Hibbert a "Fake Black man" Because Lloyd is half cast and was with White woman at the time. As for Laing, the guy is now a street drunk and in a terrible way. Here's a documentary on him from a couple of years back - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oY_1iNtpb1E
gnasher16 30,535
Im told Laing is doing ok at the moment he made some money off a few interviews and such like then went into a rehab in Nottingham.....he lives somewhere around Nottingham but from what im told is the type of character likely to be on and off the drink all his life just so happens at the moment he,s off......be a shame if a man of such talent couldnt get himself straight....there was talk of a book about his life which is more than likely to raise him decent money there might already be one out im not sure, just as long as money from it doesnt finance the habit i guess. There was certainly more to Laing than met the eye some good some bad,all id say is Terry Lawless was a shrewd judge and he refused to have him around in the end.
