New permission!

Recommended Posts

Decided to see if we could get a spot or three for pigeon shooting.

Googled and used Yell to track down farmers in the area. One close to us said yes so we went down today to have a look at the permissions offered for pigeon shooting. The first field is about 16 acres, has houses on 2 sides and a footpath through it, peas being grown on it. It also has an adjoining part, separated 90% of the way along by a drainage ditch, but he does not want us shooting there as it backs onto the school field. Fair enough, do as he asks.

Then he said, there is a better field for shooting on, follow me, jumped in the car and away we went following his 4x4. A mile or so away there is an 18 acre pea field he has and across the road another 18 or so acre pea field with a pile of turkey dung in the corner his brother farms. Got permission on both of those! So got some nice pigeon prospects and he also shoots an air rifle (break barrel BSA)! So we have an understanding farmer who likes air rifles!

nice to here you have new permission!

And some nice pigeon breast meals to look forward too!

Use your shot quarry as decoys, and watch em flood in.once you get the flight path right!

Good luck

The farmer pointed out the flight paths to us. Unfortunately we cannot have guests on this permission, it is for shooters he knows only and you have to have insurance! So we are covered all round as a few years ago we helped him get rid of some trees that had blown over in the gales (two muppets and a damned big bush saw). Well it got some free fuel for the next winter!
