andyfr1968 772
National Lampoon's Animal House inspired me as a kid which was a shame as I ended up spending most of youth pissed up and in trouble Nothing's changed much... Some class films mentioned so far, I love the Dear Hunter and the Dollars trilogy. I think Blade Runner deserves a mention, I never get tired of watching that.

Ossie n Arch 1,682
Every so often a film and an actor comes along that is forever associated with a certain genre of movie. Like John Wayne is associated with westerns. The movie Enter theDragon was/is such a film. This movie set the bench mark for Martial Arts movies and in my opinion has never been surpassed. This movie influenced a generation of martial artists and sent thousands of kids to dojo's all over the world and was responsible for kick starting an industry that includes mixed martial arts and cage fighting. What film. Actor, sportsman inspired you or influenced you as a kid? Steve Redgrave, to be at the top of your sport (and that sport be rowing) for that long youv'e got to be super dedicated and something special. Iv'e walked around Holme Pierrepoint and it's a fu*king long way.
undisputed 1,664
Sounds a bit dopey because they were really muggy films....but the first Rocky film came out at a time when a few of us had just started out in the boxing game and was inspirational in as much as showing that durability, dedication and a touch of luck could overcome a lack of natural talent....which has proved true in the lives of many people. Remember them well back when video was king....used to train to eye of the tiger
