To be Honest they are as cheap as chips (especially if you make your own) so once they become unservicable just dispose of them and start afresh with a new wire. Sometimes you can get quite a few settings from the one wire, but more often than not it is a lot less hassle to use a new wire rather than wasting time and effort re-tensioning an old one.

Just use new ones. Once they're misshapen, kinked, twisted and it's difficult to reshape a good loop I just get rid of them.

Dunno mate I don't make my own. Would like to have a go though. Anyone know where to find good info on snare making?

 

Must be cheaper to make your own?

Does woodga make his own like, how much does he take for them. You tryed them brfore.
