MissRhianL 70
As above what made you choose the breed that your running or the breeds that you run in the past. Quote Link to post
STUNTMAN 552
The quarry dictates the dog if your a hunter and really serious about taking game. Like these guys that take 4lb test and go shark fishing, cool but not serious. Hares is your quarry , hare dog. Big and toothy is your game well get a sighthound bred for it. Big movment over her in the states for the fastest coyote dog so I've been seeing 3/4 -7/8 hot bloods.....I think they forgot what happens when they catch the coyote of they have 8 dogs on it so it dont matter anyway. I dont always but I try to live by the dog has to support its self and you , thats the acid test then you cant go wrong. Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
I always wanted a smallish, fast,, agile, smooth coated dog, mainly for rabbits - day and lamp. I was looking at whippets or whippet/greys. I then got offered a saluki/whippet/grey pup and at first the stubborn saluki blood was proving a major pain in the arse, especially for a first lurcher. However I have learnt how to deal with and work with the saluki blood and he is turning into a fine dog. If he turns out how I expect him to then I can't see me straying far from this breeding. bird 9,984
well had lurchers long while now(25 years+), and i have kept bullxs, and colliexs, bitza, none ped whippet. Right now ive keep bullx and colliex, as rabbit dog i dont think you can beat a colliex. And i think a good bullx takes some beating for most quarry, that tenacity they have comes in handy if you need it . Both xs are clever, loyal,+tough dogs But i do think lurcher to lurcher bred dogs, make hell of a good dog, and if i ever wanted alrounder type lurcher thats what i would go for in the future. i came very close to it sunday Quote Link to post

Country Joe 1,411
Mostly ran Beddy x whippets, and Beddy x Whippet x Whippet, always liked a bit of whippet in my dogs, so I decided to go the whole hog, and got a pedigree whippet pup. Quote Link to post
