Net making question

when you run out of hemp on your needle how do you continue? do you literally just refill the needle and then tie one end to the existing net?

I always try to make sure the joining knot is on the edge of the net, rather than in the middle. One because it looks neater and second if your joining not fails and slips etc I would rather have it on the edge than in the middle of the net.

good advice use a fishermans knot to join the 2 bits together

I try to put the joining knot on the side but on many occasions the knot has been put in the midddle i find as long as you pull your knot very tight trim the edges tidy and carefully singe the ends with a lighter to stop them fraying then i always put a very small dot of superglue on the knot and i have luckerly never had one move yet in years also it looks very neat and you can hardly see it but each to there own good luck with the net making mate

whats the standard size for purse nets? is it 12 wide by 15 down? thanks

When you run out of twine just go back to your last knot double knot it there and start knitting again

All our nets are made 18 meshes wide by 24 meshes long they catch and hold very well

Got quite a few like this myself multi coloured to use up all the odds and ends rabbits dont seem to mind what colour they are
