Day old chicks

Recommended Posts

Neighbour of mine just dropped some frozen day old chicks off. They were been used for feeding the barn olws in the snow...

I know they won't have much nutritional value but just wondering if they will be ok to feed to my ferrets as a supplement to their usual diet? Or are there reason not to feed them to the ferrets? (bones etc)

Don't have much knowledge on day olds so any advice is greatly received. Thank you, NEHunter

Yes they are a good supplement food for the fezzers, as you said they dont have a massive nutritional value but good for their teeth and roughage.

I used to feed them daily with other foods but the ferrets developed coughs , after keeping them off chicks a few weeks they came good , it was the down irritating the throat , so i wouldnt feed them as a staple or daily from that experience
