NEHunter 14
Neighbour of mine just dropped some frozen day old chicks off. They were been used for feeding the barn olws in the snow... I know they won't have much nutritional value but just wondering if they will be ok to feed to my ferrets as a supplement to their usual diet? Or are there reason not to feed them to the ferrets? (bones etc) Don't have much knowledge on day olds so any advice is greatly received. Thank you, NEHunter Quote Link to post

Ron Weasley 83
As already said, they don't contain a lot of nutritional value - basically an egg with feathers, but they'll do them no harm, and the ferrets certainly enjoy them. I've used them a few times to help me out of a tight spot. Quote Link to post
popnoodle 4
bought two for mine on the weekend, the jill only wanted the top end and the hob only wanted the bottom end so they got a bit confused when i tried to switch them over lol Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
I used to feed them daily with other foods but the ferrets developed coughs , after keeping them off chicks a few weeks they came good , it was the down irritating the throat , so i wouldnt feed them as a staple or daily from that experience Quote Link to post
