RIOHH 30
Yes it does help, lady hunter is my girlfriend, i wasnt aware she had put this up as i have just put one in the wanted section, we do not mind paying for the equipment or the birds. This add was put up as i am hoping to start my own buisness in the near future. Right experience, i started to learn the art of falconry nearly 20 years ago, i have kept my own birds for the past 11 years, i have trained and flown many birds including hh, red tail, peregrines, gyr, gyr x saker, sparrow hawk, kes and many more. I have had the privilage to hunt my mate female goldie for him in many occasions. Sorry for the miss understanding she should have put a bit more info down. Hope a few of you may be able to help. jasper65 6
I take it Martin you're looking for this years birds untouched out of the aviary? the last thing you want is birds not reared as described or with bad vices. are you also be looking for Imprints? is there also a prefered species you want for your business? Falcons/Harris's ECT? as you probably know depending on what business you're doing some birds will be more suitable than others . Jasp Quote Link to post
RIOHH 30
To be totaly honest jasper i am not too bothered on age of birds as if they are not steady enough for work they will be put into breeding. As for species i am hoping to cover a fairly wide spectrum so am looking out for most things i have a red tail, spar and kes coming soon so realy want a few owls, larger falcons and hawks. I have just moved back from northern ireland so am pretty much starting from scratch again as i couldnt bring my old birds back with me. ATB martin Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
without trying to put you off too much I have to say mate if you're planning on setting up a breeding program forget it as you've missed the boat. I have never seen so many Goshawks on the market in all the time I have been in the game as this year , I could see it coming a few years back but its come round quicker than expected, there's alot more birds being bred now exceeding demand, Harris's are also flat on their arse! you'll always shift a few no doubt about it but if you're breeding Goshawks and Parent Rearing them you'll want them gone by their sell by date or you'll get problems. genuine Pure Peregrines are ok at the moment but how longs a peice of string. RIOHH 30
I totaly understand what your saying mate and if im honest goshawks hadnt even crossed my mind, i realy want to have a go at breeding ferruginous as i think they are stunning birds and i dare say the first clutch they had i would keep a couple back myself and give the others to friends so i could monitor their progress. Harris hawks im not too bothered about ive always had a harris knocking about and i want to concentrate on other sides of falconry for a while. I quite fancy experimenting with falcons but not 100% sure which yet. The breeding side of thing wont be solely be for money it will mainly be if i need birds for work i know i could breed some if you get what i meen. ATB martin Quote Link to post
