runing day time dogs on the lamp ?

Recommended Posts

i would keep your day dogs to running in the day,and get a lamper to run at night.fact is most day time dogs are at best below average lampers, they lack heart for the bigger game and fox, sure some will have a try but after afew tumbles on the big stuff and a few bites off a foxs they turn in to what they are..... cowards. :whistling:

NONSENCE

well all the ones i have seen didnt last a night, doing what the lampers do

I disagree Dan, if a dog has half a brain it can excel at both. I only lamp now but a few years ago I expected mine to lamp all quarry, work with terriers & hunt up through the day. A decent dog soon learns what it can't catch but by that I dont mean picking its runs. All bullx's I've kept will go through any cover but know when I switch the lamp off to return.

most dogs will work the lamp to a certain level speaking from exsperince with me own dog my daytime dog will lamp but no were near as good as me lamping bitch hes keen enough and fast enough just seems to lack brains on the lamp. but other wise on daytime stuff seems to have brains in bundels but iv never rated cousing dogs on the lamp they were bred for somethig else if they were that good at lamping more people would use them for that purpose

im only reading between the lines here but i think only a complete novice would ask such a stupid Q

i aint reading between the lines and only an idiot would post such a stupid reply, man asked a fair question some say to much lamping early on can cause daytime dogs to pull up,most lamping dogs will not smash in cover ,were as u want your day dogs not to pull up [bANNED TEXT] the course goes through hedges reeds etc,so each to their own personally will only lamp day dogs for fitness on open land.

idiot without reading between the lines if hes talking about a rabbit dog it should be hunted day and night but if he talking about a dog for coarsing during the day then it shouldnt be at rabbits at all is tat plain enough ballbag
