moocherboi 8
ferrets cant sweat.. so they can over heat. i tend to freeze water bottles and place them in hutch.. and obviously situate the hutch in the best shaded area possible. Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
I keep my ferrets in the garage, it's cool in the hot weather and warmer than outside in the winter. I open the windows to let the breeze cool the place. Good idea about the water bottles though Quote Link to post
The one 8,535
Aye two set of plastic juice bottles 3/4 full and freeze them change them as they defrost Quote Link to post
ferret100 47
Get a cheap ice cube tray, drop a few bits of mince or small bits of meat in each partition, fill with water and freeze. The ferrets will lick the icecubes for the meat. You can also do this with lactose free milk. And the frozen water filled bottles wrapped in a tea-towel and placed under the bedding is great too. I also leave a tray full of water with icecubes in for the ferrets to play in to help keep them cool. I also use an old spray bottle filled with water, give them a few squirts, helps cool them down too. They try to lick the water droplets from the air!! Daft things! Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
Juice bottles in the freezer now ready for tomorrow Quote Link to post
lksopener 105
Great idea on the frozen bottles I'm on that! Important to keep ferrets cool and in the shade where possibly guys! They can over heat. Lots of water. Go for larger 1litre bottles if possible or at least a couple of small ones. Quote Link to post
