Try to do a spot of fishing once in a while.

I also own a set of golf rackets but don't use them that often.

But may main hobby revolves around work which is horse breeding. I run the sales and marketing side of a large stud farm with 7 - 10 stallions and love talking about breeding and bloodines.

As well as that I'm also a showjumping course designer and am trying to work my way up through the qualifications, so that's my Sundays sorted for most of the year.

But the downside is, I have feck all time left for shooting, digging, ferreting etc.

the trap in the picture, whats it called? i have some of those, :hmm::hmm:

It's a gin trap, they were made in their thousands in the first half of the last century but now illegal to use.

It's what I collect - if anyone has any old ones knocking about they don't want I would be interested in hearing from you

I was just wondering what other hobbies folks have got other than working their dogs.

I play bowls (the old mans type, but am only 26, sad i know) and do a bit of fishing. Also like to watch the odd TV program and have the ocasional shandy

Don't have much time for anything else as I have a young daughter with another on the way.

So, who does what??

I,m trying to learn to play the guitar, not very good i,m afraid, i spend a lot of time dreaming of having a place with a bit of land attached, then i would build a huge aviary and fill it with goldies, bullies, etc all captive bred of course, and i,d breed some mules, canary x goldfinch. :hmm::hmm:

I don't actually work my Dogs. Largely because they're not 'working' types. So, whilst I'm not doing that, I largely get on with my life. I guess ye could say That's my hobby. Luckily for me, I'm now in a position where I largely do what I like and like what I do.

I look after my few head of 'stock and my Dogs. I also, as part and parcel of that look after their housings and my ground. Fence erecting then is never far from my mind. But my favourite activity is actually building and fitting out building doors, would ye believe? There's nothing I like more than ripping out a rotten old stable door and replacing it with a nice, new one I've made to measure. Happy me; I have several of my own to do and, only today, a neighbour offered me the contract of re dooring his entire farm! :D

In between times, I kill things for other people, as the occassion arises. Spend my evenings on this thing. Am waiting to be able to get on with my book about the traps designed to replace the Gin.

Oh and, of course; I practice 'Zen in the Art of Mink Catching'. Fail at it like me; Ye Have to be Philisophical!

I spend as much time taking my 11 year old lad out as possible! he's still at the age where he wants to be with me and wants me to take him everywhere! In another 4 years when he is 16 he won't want to know me as no doubt I'll embarrass him infront of his mates and girlfriends .

I also enjoy in the summer months Breeding birds wether it be British Finches, Hawks/Falcons or anything else for that matter, My main interest is the artificial Incubation side of things through to pip and Hatch then back with parents.......
