The Greyhound Inn, Sydling St. Nicholas

Recommended Posts

"The Greyhound Inn which takes its name from the Sydling Greyhound, a strain of hunting dog bred in the area and featured in the crest of the Wyldbore Smith family today is still an important part of the village community."

So says the Pub Walks in Dorset book when reading it the other weekend - thought i'd see if any of you knowledgable people have heard of this line and know anything more about it?
