Irish HW100T "FAC" owner

Recommended Posts

Howdy all,

I'm afraid I've already popped my cherry on another thread - not exactly best forum etiquette, for which I apologise, but I hope it'll be far from my last post on here.

I'm from a shotgun background but started getting into air a little over a year ago with a local 10m Olympic club. Have been really enjoying the technical nature of the 10m stuff so figured I'd have a glance into the outdoor hunter/target end of things.

Decided to stick with air as it's cheaper to run and quieter, the latter simply being a personal preference as I live in the countryside and wouldn't be disturbing anyone in any case.

So, to that end I recently aquired an HW100T for myself, it's the 18ft.lb version with the quickfill cylinder, there's a Hawke 6.5-20x50mm AOIR scope on her and I'm just going through pellet trials at the moment.

So far she does NOT like Bisley WASPS or GAMO ProMagnums and the selection at my local RFD is rather poor beyond that so I've to convince him to order a few others in for me to experiment with. I don't have the option to source online or elsewhere as our law is assways with pellets requiring a licence to purchase and ammunition retailers permit to import or sell - both of which mean that ammo can't be posted here either.

I have "FAC" quoted above as over here you require a ticket for everything over 1J so the FAC bit is kinda irrelevant from that viewpoint as you can imagine.

In any case, I'm initially very happy with her although the dealer has been good enough to give me the option to swap her out for something else inside of a few weeks if I'm not happy with the performance (again - a paperwork headache over here but it's very good of him to give me the facility).

Have been browsing fairly intently for the last 10 days or so - only registered at the start of this week though as you can't see the pictures until you do. Lots of great info and seems like there's a bit of craic on here too so I'll look forward to making a few more contributions once I'm properly up and running.

Cheers,

TAZ
