Ideation 8,216
Given the location that may be whats killing them then. Although i'm certain there are fox in the area as i put one up the other day. If it is the fox, the pigs are def having a good munch on them. b*****ds.

CarraghsGem 92
lambs can drop dead for no apparent reason as well, badgers will take newborns but they wont turn down carrion either, fox is the same.

Ideation 8,216
Yer when i found him him this morning i didn't even have a knife. Bit difficult dispatching a lamb that size cleanly and humanly by hand. Took the photo this eve, having a wander looking for earths and more had been eaten from the back end, and he had been dragged a foot further into the cover. The flock are spread over a big piece of very poorly managed rough open pasture and woodland, the flock are flighty as feck and i seem to find a lot of lambs wandering on their own there. My guess is foxy grabbed him early, got him down but didnt kill him, for some reason left, then stripey had a munch, and then i found him, poor wee b*****d, must have been horrible. You can't go 100 yrds there without falling down a big fecking hole.

chimp 299
seen a clip on youtube of a badger scaring fox away from a kill , probably what it was then . you in a high TB area? i know it has no bearing but might be worth to see if your local cattle farmer has put a report in for TB, you might fall in the bracket if they decide to bring the cull in

The others are just a f*****g menace, but they are all over the shop, and that's not a local thing, south wales is sinking into the ground. Cheers for the heads up though Chimp - Aye mate there is TB about, not too bad, but it had been in the past.
