border lad 1,047 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Share Posted June 1, 2011 Very nice pup, he will be a big strong dog, and probably, he could have a nice bit of broken coat on him, give him plenty time to Mature, usually, they start to come to themselves at around 18to 20 months, if you have the patients to Waite he probably will not disappoint you, serious, they only need time to mature, they will fill your freezer, with the right stuff, some times they need a football pitch to turn on,, but I can assure you they can do there job,, I have never seen a deerhound cross coming together, at 12 months, never, I made a terrible mistake, I gave a 3/4 greyx1/4 deerhound away at 16 months old, he was running wide, and just could not pick up, when the same dog reached, 20 months to 2 year old, he was picking up Hares, with No problem, and for Roe, well they are made for that job, Genuine, they only need time, Quote Link to post
