Lab 10,979
That didnt help Well if you are talking about the stuff you see on the tv then yes there is lots of money involved. There are heats leading to a final....in each heat there is money to win(qualify) and obviously the big prize money is in winning the overall final. Betting on your dog if it wins can win you bug bucks if you do it correctly. Lots of these dogs you see running in these big events cost lots of money, 10's of thousands even...... gnasher16 30,531
That didnt help If you think your going to learn much about a sport by simply saying " is there much money in it " what do you expect..... I think anyone would tell you if your looking to get into greyhound racing for financial reasons then forget it....if your looking to get into it for a hobby or a good night out then fair enough either get yourself a young dog to get involved in the flapping scene or get into a consortium and buy a share in a grade A dog or similar which will be trained with a proper trainer.....but like i say if your main aim is money, try something else. dare 1,103
Gnasher should you'd know and have seen pics of his greyhounds but wasn't a known stafford dogman a greyhound trainer once upon a time? Understand trainers know more ect but for me that takes away part of the fun I mean I'd see it as a hobby rather than an investment so I'd rather be hands on than paying money. That said I wouldn't be too clued up on it. Do they greyhounds have keeps like the bulldogs to get them at peak?
dare 1,103
Slip big money in all sports when at the top but find most at the top would do it for half the money because its a love for them and that's the reason they made the top. Jmo
