Hi, mate.

So long as you get the correct ram in the right caliber for your gun you've no worries about legality

I'm just down the road from you in Leeds, mate. If you need a hand to fit the thing, give me a shout.

Cheers.

you need a spring press .I had to file a little of off the cross pin that holds the main spring in the gun.The part of the pin that holds the spring guide in place. Not to much (T W Chambers part number DP008) The gun did shoot well for a time at bang on the limit 177 .The ram failed after a time,so gone back to a spring . The add for the ram likes to stat how a spring loses power from the word go but some power lose can be recovered from a spring with washers. When the gas leaks out of the ram the power loss has to be lived .

never heard anything like that before, thanks. For pissing on my parade. i joke!

ive heard from simon that andy know his shit, and as the offers there i should probs take it, rather that than have my rifle explode in my face (again sounds terribly wrong)

where did you get your gas ram from?

Blackpool air rifles seems to be the cheapest at 60 odd pound, everywhere else is like 70+

is leaking a common defunk in them? maybe a new spring and tune is another alternative......

The .177 ram would take a .22 slightly the wrong side of the law but it's totally not worth the risk. Very bad idea

It's been said above that you need a spring compressor, it does help but it can be done without so long as there's two people doing the fit. One to compress the ram while the other inserts the retaining pin. I've fitted a quite a few retro-fit ram kits and I've always managed without one. So far!!

As has also been said, if it leaks over time and eventually it will, it's fecked. You can't re-fill the after market kits. Only Theobens own rifles and the HW90 can be topped up if needed.

Cheers.
